Job Overview
We are searching for an Electrical Team Lead to work in Milwaukee or Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves leading a team of electrical engineers, EITs, and designers, focusing on technical excellence, project leadership, policy compliance, and business development while supporting a broad range of projects from data centers to civic and federal facilities.
Responsibilities- Assist the Electrical Business Class Lead with managing and fostering a culture of the overall business class, serving as the direct supervisor of a team of electrical engineers, EITs, and designers.
- Collaborate with fellow team leads and the Electrical Business Class Lead on staff allocation and project proposals.
- Provide technical leadership that emphasizes quality, recruitment, mentoring, and staff development.
- Work closely with electrical market sector leadership to maintain technical excellence across key markets including commercial, civic, industrial, federal, water, transportation, healthcare, education, laboratories, and other mission‑critical facilities.
- Function as design lead or engineering project manager on key projects.
- Implement, monitor, and support company policy.
- Collaborate with other team leads, business class lead, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
- Encourage and participate in work‑sharing and electrical practice development with the nation‑wide network of HDR Electrical Business Class.
- Assist the Electrical Business Class Lead with recruitment and business class growth.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
- Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
