The Electrical CAD Designer will work alongside a team of engineers. You’ll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. As a vital member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on building electrical design, including lighting, power and systems coordination within a wide range of power plant technologies such as gas‑powered generation, biomass, municipal waste, hydrogen production and applications, carbon capture, BESS, hydro, wind and solar.
Subject matter expertise is less important than the ability to lead and execute complex projects.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of electrical one‑line diagrams, circuit diagrams, cable routing and knowledge of the NEC.
- Substation physical layout and electrical clearances.
- Ability to work in a team environment, and to coordinate the work of various engineering disciplines and contractors to complete an integrated project.
- Must have mastered detailing skills and have demonstrated basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.
- Advanced understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
- Advanced ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
- Routinely uses higher‑level commands, time‑saving programs and routines.
