Our client, a global leader in medical tubing and fluid management manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Extrusion Process Engineer to support the development and commercialization of highly engineered medical tubing used in applications such as IV therapy, blood management, infusion systems, endoscopy, and other fluid management devices.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role where you'll take ownership of extrusion manufacturing lines from concept through production. The ideal candidate will be able to take a customer drawing, determine the manufacturing approach, develop the extrusion process, and successfully launch a complete production line with minimal oversight. The hiring manager is looking for an experienced engineer who can hit the ground running—there is little time available for training.
Day-to-Day- Develop and implement extrusion manufacturing processes for custom medical tubing and fluid management products.
- Interpret customer drawings and determine the tooling, materials, equipment, and process parameters required for production.
- Build, optimize, and validate complete extrusion manufacturing lines from process development through commercial production.
- Develop robust manufacturing processes for new product introductions while supporting process transfers and scale-up activities.
- Troubleshoot extrusion processes and implement improvements to increase yield, throughput, and dimensional consistency.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Operations to bring new tubing designs into production.
- Create and maintain process documentation, engineering reports, and manufacturing work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across extrusion operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on medical extrusion process engineering experience.
- Ability to independently take a customer drawing and develop a complete extrusion manufacturing process from concept through production.
- Experience owning an extrusion line from process development through validation and manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of medical tubing extrusion, tooling, process optimization, and manufacturing scale-up.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience working within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
