Value Engineering Manager

A. O. Smith is seeking a Value Engineering Manager to drive cost optimization across our water heaters, boilers, and water treatment products. In this performance-driven, safety-focused, and engineering-centric culture, you will lead cross-functional projects to reduce material and manufacturing costs while protecting quality, safety, and performance. You will partner with engineering, operations, sourcing, and quality to analyze designs, processes, and suppliers, propose value-focused solutions, and track savings.

Responsibilities

• Lead value engineering initiatives to reduce cost while maintaining quality and safety of water heaters, boilers, and treatment products
• Analyze designs, materials, and manufacturing processes to identify cost-saving and standardization opportunities
• Partner with engineering, operations, sourcing, and quality teams to implement value-focused design and process changes
• Use data, value analysis tools, and root-cause methods to prioritize projects and track savings and performance metrics
• Support new product development with cost targets, manufacturability input, and value-focused design reviews
• Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams in value engineering methods and continuous improvement mindset
