Job Title: AV Commissioner - Field Specialist

Location: Milwaukee, WI, with some travel in the US

Type: Direct Hire, In-Office, Full-Time (with generous allowance for PTO, sick, etc.)

Summary

We are searching for an AV Field Specialist for our client in the Milwaukee area. The position is onsite working with the AV project team as well as travel to installation sites for inspection and education the client, essential for the success of our complex AV integrated systems in our newly constructed buildings across various US locations. The AV Technician conducts the last and most crucial meeting with our client and involves frequent travel various project sites, providing a customer-facing service to ensure systems are working properly;

to provide client training, to conduct initial troubleshooting and elevate site repair if needed. The technician also provides technical support to the sales team and collaborates closely with the project manager to deliver an exceptional AV experience for our customers. What You Will Be Accountable For
  • Inspect and verify system flow diagrams and ensure alignment with the Bill of Materials (BOM) and site requirements.
  • Perform Labor Requirements Assessment based on site conditions and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Review the Computer Aided Design (CAD) team's final technical plans before implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop a Technical Scope of Work.
  • Post-Award, Participate in meetings to review the Scope of Work (SOW) and BOM with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate project adjustments and changes to the BOM and SOW based on site conditions or project specifications.
  • Provide technical support in technical design, contract negotiation, material and labor estimations, and proposal preparations.
  • Meet and continually engage with vendors to evaluate project methods.
  • Offer interdepartmental technical assistance to ensure delivery of AV solutions.
  • Conduct frequent site visits locally or via travel for commissioning and ensure optimal AV system performance.
  • Provide warranty walkthroughs or onsite support as needed.
What Qualifications You Need
  • 3-5 years’ experience in AV integration and specification or similar technical systems.
  • Strong understanding of AV design and performance standards; familiarity with AV technologies and design tools.
  • Experience using D-tools or similar.
  • Experience with MS Project, Procore, or similar project management software is a plus.
  • Strong communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to coordinate travel with project teams.
Other Criteria
  • A CTS certification from AVIXA is preferred upon hire, or obtained soon after hire.
  • Travel is required to project installation sites for inspection and education of clients.
