Role
Automation Engineer supporting X-Ray Tube manufacturing in West Milwaukee, WI, focusing on design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions.
Responsibilities- develop automated equipment including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, integrating vision systems, and ensuring process automation;
- lead projects for existing and future production lines;
- support machine design, commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives;
- create technical documentation, safety assessments, and training materials.
- BS/MS in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronic, or related engineering discipline;
- 2+ years hands-on automation experience with programmable controls, robotics, and industrial systems;
- proficiency with PLCs (GE Proficy, Allen Bradley, Siemens), robotics (Fanuc, Kuka, Motoman), electrical schematics, and control panel design;
- experience with process-intensive manufacturing preferred.
- manufacturing automation, collaborative robots, vision, AIVs, safety standards (NFPA
79, OSHA), regulated environment (GMP), and technical project management.
work with design, operations, vendors, and global teams; occasional domestic/international travel (~5-20%).
