Construction Estimator

Responsible for cost/estimating projects and design assistance. Job function involves analyzing architectural plans, specifications, general and special conditions, structural drawings, and instruction to bidders for material take-offs (extrusions, glass, flashing, buy-outs, etc.), labor for engineering, fabrication, installation, and other skylight-related materials. Additional responsibilities may include preliminary detail drawing and skylight modeling for sales presentations.

Position requires Associate Degree in technical discipline, preferably architecture or engineering--or equivalent experience--and specific training in costing of materials. Good understanding of mathematics (geometry and trigonometry), and above-average skills in computer drafting. Speed and accuracy in these areas are essential.

Two to four years' experience in custom-architectural and/or construction products is necessary--preferably in sky lighting and aluminum/glass-oriented products. Knowledge and understanding of contract specifications and construction practices are a plus. Experience with Auto Cad and automated estimating program a "plus."
