Live Event Technology Staff

Live Event Technology Staff is essential to setting up and supporting the wide range of technologies required for events at Fiserv Forum -- Bucks games, Marquette games, NCAA tournaments, concerts, corporate events and more! Come be part of the team that designs and supports the dozens of technology systems needed to deliver the best live sports and entertainment in Wisconsin. You'll be encouraged to learn how to manage many of these systems.

We provide the training — you bring the natural curiosity, positive attitude, work ethic, and technical skills to deliver the best possible experience for Fiserv Forum's fans and guests.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to early morning call times and late event nights
  • Comfortable working with cables, connectors, laptops, and consumer and commercial electronics
  • Able to follow detailed written procedures precisely and complete checklists without shortcuts
  • Customer service instincts and the ability to stay composed with guests during busy or frustrating moments
  • Able to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event calendar
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts — Ethernet, switches, patching, IP addressing, access points
  • Coursework or a degree in progress in information technology, networking, or a related field

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, including totes of equipment and cable
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crawl under tables and platforms, and work at floor level for extended periods while running and dressing cable
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of a shift, including long distances across the arena bowl and concourses
  • Ability to push and maneuver wheeled equipment carts and dollies, including backup shot clock dollies, across the arena floor
  • Ability to work in a loud, bright, crowded environment during live events

Bucks and Marquette Basketball Shift Structure

Basketball games in the Fall through Spring are over half the events we have at Fiserv Forum. Support for concerts and other special events is needed as well but to explain the role and responsibilities we have laid out below the basketball cadence; there are two distinct shift types and you may be scheduled for either, or both on the same day.

1. Court / Stats Setup — 7:00 AM–9:00 AM

Usually the morning of a game, but sometimes several days in advance depending on the Fiserv Forum event calendar and when the court is installed. Setup is checklist-driven and follows the Bucks SOP step-by-step.

Work includes:

  • Running and dressing cable on the arena floor
  • Deploying and connecting clock and timing equipment
  • Deploying network equipment and headsets
  • Setting up the stats tables (laptops, printers, headsets, etc)
  • Deploying NBA specific technology
  • Testing everything before handoff
  • Completing the internal gameday checklist

2. Event Support — 30 minutes before doors through approximately 1 hour after the event

For Bucks games, the shift runs through strike, roughly an hour after the final buzzer. For concerts and other events, the shift ends at food and beverage cutoff.

Work includes:

  • Ticket entry support: troubleshooting handheld and pedestal ticket scanners, resolving ticketing and entry issues at the gates, assisting guests with app-related ticket issues, troubleshooting x-ray screening equipment, and checking and replacing ticket pod batteries before doors and during the event
  • Guest service: answering guest questions about the arena — concessions locations, seating, amenities, and way finding
  • General IT and network support: responding to issues anywhere in the building during the event, including printers and toner replacement, network drops, point-of-sale and back-of-house device issues, and escalating anything beyond the scope of the shift
  • Strike: breaking down, coiling, and returning all court and stats equipment to the correct totes and storage locations after the event, following the SOP inventory
