Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with a dynamic team while supporting key financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries during the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational policies.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts by analyzing variances, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

- Support consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations and alignment of financial data.

- Compile supporting documentation for financial statements and assist in accurate reporting of financial results.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies, providing insights for decision-making.

- Assist with external audits by ensuring financial documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including tax filings.

- Contribute to the integration of acquired businesses, ensuring smooth financial transitions. Requirements - Proficiency in corporate tax, including preparation of corporate tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax processes and compliance.

- Experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

- Ability to analyze and reconcile financial accounts accurately.

- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and audit preparation.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
