Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting processes and financial data management. The role involves supporting month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and assisting with variance analyses, all while adhering to established accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting policies and deadlines.

- Organize and compile documentation for reconciliations, audits, and journal entries.

- Assist in executing month-end close tasks under the guidance of accounting leadership.

- Format and organize financial data using Excel to ensure accuracy and consistency.

- Extract and validate financial data from Oracle systems and other supporting tools.

- Create charts, graphs, and summaries to present financial data effectively.

- Develop PowerPoint presentations and infographics for executive reviews and meetings.

- Apply standardized templates and formatting standards to all reporting materials.

- Manage workload intensity during month-end close and provide additional analysis post-close.

- Adapt to changing priorities while supporting multiple finance functions. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.

- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and billing functions.

- Strong skills in account reconciliation and general accounting practices.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data formatting and analysis.

- Experience working with Oracle systems for financial data extraction and reporting.

- Ability to create detailed presentations and financial summaries using PowerPoint.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Capability to work under established policies while managing multiple tasks effectively.
