Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role focuses on managing grant programs, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with program policies. The ideal candidate will excel in financial analysis, forecasting, and reconciliation while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting program operations.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the management and reporting of various grant programs, including financial and program documentation, ensuring timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and final reports.

- Maintain and update program documentation to ensure compliance and proper substantiation of operations.

- Monitor financial results against budgets, communicating findings to relevant stakeholders to prevent overspending.

- Conduct analysis and forecasting of financial positions, ensuring budget compliance and communicating results to appropriate personnel.

- Review financial transactions, including invoices, travel reports, and timesheets, to ensure adherence to policies and initiate corrective actions for non-compliance.

- Manage grant monitoring reviews and provide required information for program evaluations.

- Administer fixed asset accounting, including monthly transactions, purchases, disposals, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with regulations.

- Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews to maintain accurate financial records.

- Support month-end close processes and prepare journal entries to ensure timely reporting.

- Utilize financial systems such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Excel to enhance reporting and analysis. Requirements - Proven experience in financial management, including account reconciliation and balance sheet reviews.

- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Net Suite, Oracle, and SAP.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entries.

- Experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

- Ability to analyze and forecast financial positions, ensuring compliance with budgets and funding requirements.

- Familiarity with grant programs and their financial management requirements.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance with policies.

- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
