Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established religious school to recruit for the senior level position of a VP of Finance/CFO. This role serves as an integral part of the administrative team, providing management and oversight for functions including accounting and budgeting, cash management, human resources, and compliance. This role is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities
  • Work across teams including the President, Facilities Manager, Director of Compliance, Assistant VP of Finance, and the Technology Manager.
  • Manage all aspects of the Business Office and cash management activities.
  • Establish and implement financial policies, procedures, standards, and safeguard the school's assets.
  • Prepare annual budget, review financial statements, and liaise with CPA firm for annual reviews.
  • Ensure tax compliance and prepare the necessary tax returns.
  • Present at the Finance Committee, Investment Committee, and Foundation Committee meetings.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and oversee bookkeeping processes.
  • Oversee human resource management in terms of employment policies, pay practices, and benefits.
  • Coordinate with Development/Advancement team for the accounting of all donations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA licensure preferred.
  • Minimum 4-8 years of managerial level accounting/financial business management experience.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting and a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Sage, data retrieval, report preparation, word processing, and spreadsheet programs, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, be self‑motivated and cope successfully with stressful situations, schedules, and deadlines.
