Cost Accounting Manager

Location: Greater Milwaukee Area (Onsite with Flexibility)

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join its finance leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to lead cost accounting and inventory management functions while partnering closely with operations to drive financial performance and business insights. • Lead all aspects of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and related financial analysis
• Oversee inventory valuation, inventory controls, and reporting across multiple operational facilities
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, overhead allocations, and operational performance metrics
• Partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making
• Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies and cost reporting processes
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accuracy of inventory-related financial reporting
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to cost and inventory accounting
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced financial controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning initiatives
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while serving as a key member of the finance leadership team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 10+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Previous management or leadership experience required
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, labor analysis, and overhead allocation methodologies
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations through financial analysis and reporting
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with finance and operational leadership teams
• Experience with ERP systems preferred
• Industry experience within complex manufacturing environments is a plus
• Professional certifications are a plus
