The Sales and Service Banker serves as a trusted advisor to customers with a focus on building strong, long‑lasting relationships by understanding their financial needs and goals. This role involves providing tailored solutions for banking, lending, and investment products while delivering exceptional customer service, minimizing risk, and defending against fraud.
Responsibilities- Act as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their financial needs and goals.
- Provide tailored solutions for banking, lending, and investment products while delivering exceptional customer service, minimizing risk, and defending against fraud.
- Proactively engage customers to assist with various financial needs, process teller transactions, identify cross‑sell opportunities, resolve issues, and educate clients on digital banking tools.
- Collaborate with team members to drive branch sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the bank.
- Meet the financial needs of customers, including transactional, servicing, and product services.
- Identify opportunities to grow banking relationships through branch activities, including calls, transactions, account support, portfolio management, and partner referrals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with teammates and partners to achieve branch goals and drive overall performance.
- Ensure an elevated customer experience, delivering personalized, seamless, and attentive service.
- Foster customer loyalty by addressing concerns and providing timely resolutions.
- Engage customers with digital platforms to enhance interactions and educate them on self‑service options.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person, over the phone, or through digital channels.
- Perform teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle cash and maintain accurate cash drawer balances.
- Assist with custodianship, audits, and other operational tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk and fraud defense.
- Allocate time to each core responsibility may vary depending on branch needs.
- Responsibilities may extend to supporting nearby branch locations based on business necessity.
- Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Required. - Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education
- Preferred. - 12+ months experience selling products and/or services
- Required. - 6+ months experience in Retail Banking sales, financial services sales, or consultative relationship sales in a related industry, with proven success in establishing new customers, deepening relationships, and delivering results
- Required. - 6+ months demonstrated successful Santander experience related to the essential functions and responsibilities of the Sales and Service Banker role, endorsed by District Executive, District Operations Manager, and Region President
- Required. - 6+ months customer service experience within a high‑volume, fast‑paced, and constantly changing environment
- Required. - 6+ months cash handling experience
- Required. - Established relationship‑building skills with a focus on customer experience and loyalty.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping others.
- Ability to learn and apply sales techniques to recommend products and services that meet customer needs.
- Experience in cross‑selling products and services.
