Private Equity Associate | Generalist Middle-Market Platform

We are working with a leading middle‑market private equity investor seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team in the Midwest.

This is a high-impact investing role within a generalist private equity platform focused on control investments in established middle-market companies across sectors including business services, consumer, industrials, healthcare, and select other industries
.

The Associate will be involved across the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring portfolio companies.

• Support origination, screening, and evaluation of new investment opportunities
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence across financial, commercial, and operational areas
• Assist in structuring and executing M&A and leveraged buyout transactions
• Partner with management teams on value creation initiatives and performance tracking
• Prepare investment committee materials and support decision‑making processes
• Monitor portfolio company performance and assist with exit preparation and execution

• 2–3 years of investment banking experience at a middle‑market or boutique advisory firm
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
• Prior exposure to M&A execution strongly preferred
• Experience working across multiple industries (or strong generalist coverage) is a plus
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple live transactions
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated interest in private equity and long‑term investing
• Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance

Candidates from middle‑market investment banks and advisory firms
, including but not limited to generalist coverage groups at firms such as Jefferies, Lincoln International, Harris Williams, Piper Sandler, Stifel, William Blair, Raymond James, and similar platforms.
