Helping

• Initiating contact and responding to communications with fiduciaries and beneficiaries to explain the full range of VA benefits, programs, entitlements, and related federal, state, and local assistance programs.
• Advising fiduciaries, trust officers, banking officials, attorneys, and court officials on regulations, necessary documentation, and factors affecting VA fiduciary oversight.
• Reviewing records to ensure all beneficiaries and dependents are properly accounted for in award actions.
• Identifying and auditing records for possible fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation, or misuse by fiduciaries.
• Conducting in-depth analysis, quasi-legal examinations, investigations, and financial assessments related to allegations of misuse.
• Protecting VA beneficiaries and their estates by initiating actions such as payment suspensions, resumptions, or terminations in appropriate situations.
• Maintaining system databases and records, including establishing and updating beneficiary and fiduciary profiles, and processing changes to fiduciaries, names, addresses, or direct deposit information.

All duties will be performed in person at the Milwaukee, WI Fiduciary Hub, located at 5400 W National Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53214.

Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. The grade progression for this position is GS-7, GS-9, and GS-10.

Telework:
This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval. Routine or recurring telework is not authorized for this position.
