Job Summary: The Court Coordinator will coordinate for Children, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) Permanency Planning by facilitating and coordinating court operations and case processing of delinquency cases, including permanency plan reviews. Work collaboratively with Court Administration, Judiciary, Clerk’s Office, ADA’s, PD’s, GALs, Private Bar Attorneys, Youth Justice, DMCW, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve system issues. Evaluate and analyze cases to provide post dispositional resources and services to juveniles to transition to adulthood.

The Court Coordinator will also coordinate for Healthy Infant Court (HIC) by reviewing incoming CHIPS emergency detentions for possible HIC involvement. Discuss with parents possible HIC involvement and provide documentation and application materials to parents. Schedule and facilitate HIC monthly review hearings specific to the goals set to move the family and the case forward. Facilitate Steering Committee Meetings. Partner with community-based agencies that serve the same population to gather additional resources for the participants of HIC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop policies and procedures for Children’s Court to process all delinquency/JIPS Permanency Plan Reviews (PPRS) within state/federal requirements and assure all notices and orders are competed and distributed in a timely manner. Assist Presiding Judge and Judicial Operations Manager with development and implementation of various projects, policy and procedures within the division. Assist judges with development of policies, procedures and updating of the Children's Division Judge's Manual.
  • Gather statistics for both youth justice and HIC through various CCAP and other data base(s) inquiries.
  • Schedule and coordinate committee meetings within the Children’s, Delinquency and Court Services Divisions. Assist Judges with agenda development and material preparation. Take, transcribe and disseminate meeting notes for other system partners including state and national partners. Schedule and facilitate HIC team meetings and court hearings. Partner with local agencies to build resources for the participants of HIC.
  • Work with the Presiding Judge, Judicial Operations Manager, and staff of Children Youth and Family Services to create goals, objectives and outcome expectations for delinquency cases focusing on permanency. Design and implement a system that meets juvenile needs post disposition. Track HIC agenda items to keep the family and court case moving forward.
