Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Ultrasonographer performs diagnostic OB/GYN, abdominal and other ultrasound exams. Completes exam analysis and preparation for Radiologist’s review and interpretation. After hour on-call ultrasound is rotated amongst sonographers. Call back response time is 45-minutes.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum
Required:
High school graduate or equivalent with equivalent self-taught educational experience or graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
Preferred/Optional: Associates Degree.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum
Required:
Successful completion of Ultrasound internship experience.
Preferred: Two years’ experience as a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographer
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum
Required:
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registered , or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S) registered. Completed Physics, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Abdomen/Small parts within 2 years’ of initial employment. If working in a department performing breast ultrasound, you must complete American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Breast certification, or ARRT Breast Sonography (BS) credential within 2 years’ of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association and Red Cross within 3 months of employment.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association and Red Cross at time of hire.
