*** Performs a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures to evoke, record, and study electrical physiological brain or nerve activities for use in diagnosing neurological disorders.
Completion of an accredited electroneurodiagnotic (END) program and registry eligible is preferred.
EEG certification through ABRET preferred. Minimum of 2 years related experience.
Demonstrates competency and functions independently utilizing appropriate judgment in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Demonstrates an understanding of the underlying principles of the physiologic neurodiagnostic measurements and has the analytical skills necessary to recognize technical problems with equipment and respond accordingly.
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Participates in on-call, weekend and holiday rotation set by the department supervisor or designee.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with the patient, family, physician and other interdisciplinary staff in order to achieve optimum results.
Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective time management skills. Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time. Ability to push or pull equipment up to 20 lbs. Ability to lift equipment/supplies up to 10 lbs. Ability to lift and move neonatal through adult patient populations. Ability to assemble complex equipment and perform fine motor skills.
