Job Title: Surgical Technologist – General Specialty (Robotics, Vascular & Plastics)
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Facility Type: 636-Bed Hospital | Level III Trauma Center | Level III NICU | Magnet Designated | Primary Stroke Center
Department: Operating Room (21 OR Suites)
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (ST) with a strong background in General Surgery, Robotic Surgery (XI), Vascular Surgery, and Reconstructive/Plastic Surgery
.
This position is strictly for General Specialty cases and requires advanced robotic, vascular, and plastics experience. Ortho and neuro experience is not required.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled, confident in high-acuity surgical settings, and comfortable working independently in a 1:1 surgical environment.
Required Experience & SkillsMinimum 2 years of OR experience
Strong recent experience in:
General Surgery
Robotic Surgery (da Vinci XI)
Vascular Surgery
Reconstructive/Plastic Surgery
Additional case experience required:
Breast/Plastics
Laparoscopic procedures
General Oncology
Genitourinary (GU)
Gynecology (GYN)
Level III Trauma experience preferred
Must be able to discuss case volume and frequency
⚠️ Robotics training is not provided for agency staff unless candidate has strong prior experience and commits beyond one contract.
CertificationsBLS required
Prepare and maintain sterile field for complex surgical procedures
Assist surgeons during robotic, vascular, and plastic surgery cases
Handle instrumentation and surgical supplies efficiently
Anticipate surgeon needs during high-acuity procedures
Ensure accurate counts and adherence to safety protocols
Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment
Document appropriately in EPIC
Participate in scheduled call rotation with 30-minute response time

Day Shift: Variable start times (5:30 AM – 7:00 AM)
PM shifts based on position hired
No routine weekend rotation
Holiday week options:
Work 4 (10-hour) shifts
Or take holiday unpaid
On-Call Requirements (30-minute response time):
EOS–1730 Call: 8–10 slots
1730–2230 Call: 2–4 slots
2230–0700 Call: 1–2 slots
Weekend Call: 1–2 weekends (12-hour shifts)
8-week call schedule (subject to staffing needs)
Cross-trained to Urology Center
No floating to other hospitals or sites
1–1.5 weeks (based on team & shift; subject to unit needs)
Surgical scrubs provided by hospital
Scrub caps allowed but must be covered by surgical bouffant
Free parking (shuttle provided)
On-campus cafeteria & Starbucks
No call rooms available
