Experience in Cath Lab and Peripheral cases
Description:
This is a fast-paced, high-acuity Cath Lab.
The lab performs between 24-40 cases a day.
Only adult patients are handled in the facility.
The Cath Lab offers diagnostic, interventional, and peripheral cases.
Procedures include RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella.
ECMO experience is preferred.
Hybrid procedures may include AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, and Watchman.
Required patient ratios are 1:1.
RN responsibilities include conscious sedation and titrating/managing drips.
RTR responsibilities include scrubbing and panning.
Permanent staff will monitor cases.
Staff support includes housekeeping for room turnovers and storeroom staff for supply management.
Receptionist and charge nurse services are available during operational hours.
A respiratory therapist is present 24/7 and will manage vents if vented patients are in the lab.
Cardiology services are also available 24/7, and a critical response team will respond to codes if needed.
The charting system used is EPIC.
Various equipment such as C-arms, Volcano, St. Jude, and others will be utilized, though experience with specific equipment is not required.
Staffing is 24/7, with potential weekend rotation and call responsibilities.
Call may occur every 2-3 months, with a 30-minute response time for emergencies.
All staff must adhere to a fatigue policy limiting hours worked.
