The Field Reimbursement Specialist (FRS) will manage defined accounts within a specified geographic region in the ophthalmic therapeutic area, supporting our client’s products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Executing collaborative territory strategic plans with internal and external stakeholders, including call center services (HUB), sales, market access, and other partners.
• Understanding reimbursement processes, field reimbursement services, and patient support programs.
• Resolving patient‑level reimbursement issues and handling patient health information (PHI) with requisite knowledge.
• Serving as an extension of the product to provide live one‑on‑one coverage support.
• Assisting from physician order to reimbursement, covering prior authorization to appeals and denials procedures and forms.
• Reviewing patient‑specific information and insurance benefit options when requested by a site.
• Identifying alternate funding or financial assistance programs.
• Coordinating with the client’s patient support services representatives.
• Educating physician office staff on the use of patient assistance and call center support services, including web‑based provider programs.
• Providing information on relevant reimbursement topics related to the client’s products.
• Acting as a payer expert for the defined geography and communicating changes to stakeholders promptly.
• Supporting accurate coding and billing for the client’s products.

Minimum Qualifications &

Education:

• Minimum two years of access and reimbursement, managed care, and/or billing and coding support experience.
• Experience with Buy and Bill products and a thorough understanding of the entire reimbursement process from script to injection.
• Preference for ophthalmic, retina specialists, and biosimilar experience.
• Experience establishing relationships within a practice to remove reimbursement barriers for specialty products.
• Knowledge of CMS policies and Medicare Part D pharmacy benefit design and coverage policy a plus.
• Knowledge of managed care, government, and federal payer sectors, and integrated delivery network/health systems a plus.
• Ability to travel and cover large multistate territories; 50% travel required.
• Excellent presentation and project management skills.

Salary and Benefits: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $155,000 to $160,000. Salary is based on qualifications and performance. Additional compensation may include a company car or allowance and eligibility for commissions or bonuses. Benefits include health coverage (medical, dental, vision), a 401(k) with company match, flexible paid time off, and sick leave. The company complies with all applicable paid sick time requirements.
