Job Purpose

The Medical Records Clerk at OVATION COMMUNITIES is responsible for managing and maintaining patient medical records in a secure, efficient, and organized manner. This role is crucial in ensuring that all medical documentation is accurately filed and readily accessible to authorized personnel, supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • File and retrieve medical documents as needed by healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and privacy regulations to protect patient information.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the transition to electronic medical records systems, if applicable.
  • Respond to requests for medical records from authorized parties promptly.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support administrative tasks related to medical records management, including data entry and filing.
Qualifications Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical records or healthcare administrative role.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical terminology.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
