Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. (CPC) is seeking a Steward Assistant to work aboard the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) research vessel (R/V) Lake Guardian, which can accommodate up to 42 people when fully loaded. Typical operational days on the water involve 20 – 30 people.

The R/V Lake Guardian berths at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences Marine Facilities dock in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when not conducting survey operations throughout the Great Lakes.

• Meal Service: Assist in setting up dining areas, help the vessel cook in meal preparation, and clean the galley and dining areas after meals.
• Housekeeping: Clean and prepare crew cabins, change linens and towels, and ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Public Area Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in lounges, corridors, and restrooms through vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Laundry: Assist with laundry operations, operate laundry machines, and report maintenance needs.
• Inventory Management: Track supplies, replenish as needed, organize storage, and assist with shipments.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other departments, participate in training and safety drills, and follow safety protocols.
