This position supports catering and event operations across our premier venues, including Discovery World, The Grain Exchange, and the Italian Community Center. Team members in this role may work at any of these locations based on business needs, event schedules, and staffing requirements.

The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up banquet events, carrying trays, serving guests, and assisting event cleanup to ensure the needs of the client are met.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Daily set-up and breakdown of food and beverage products for catered events.
- Food preparation for daily activities and scheduled events.
- Serving food and beverage product to event participants, vendors, and host clients.
- Assist with event coordination; table set-ups, place settings, serving areas and discarded products.
- Assist with event clean up; on-site or off-site, all plates, dishes, silverware, glassware, linens, chairs, and garbage.
- Assist with moving catering products back to catering kitchen.
- Print food and product labels and signage for buffets.
- Maintain participation awareness of upcoming catering events and event orders.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform.
- Communicate effectively with guests and managers to handle last minute requests.
- Communicate effectively with Catering Director and Chefs; assist when needed.
- Due to the nature of our business, team members are expected to be available and work weekends, late evenings, and Holidays, as needed.

- Ability to manage multiple tables and service priorities simultaneously.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
- Previous experience as a server preferred.
- Experience with POS systems (e.g., Open Table, Toast), preferred.
- Must successfully complete restaurant training course.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, often for the duration of a full shift.
- Capability to lift, carry, and balance trays, plates, and service items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling to provide service and set up or clear tables.
- Manual dexterity to handle glassware, flatware, and small service items with precision and care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Clear verbal communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members in a busy dining room.
- Capability to navigate crowded spaces safely and efficiently.
- Tolerance for varying temperatures, including warm dining rooms and proximity to kitchen areas.
- Position dictates working in a fast-paced environment and subject to irregular hours including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
