About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee. This role will be responsible for leading end-to-end payroll processing while supporting key benefits administration activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with
UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is helpful but not required.

Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration (Primary Focus)
  • Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll for multi-state employee populations.
  • Ensure accuracy of wages, deductions, garnishments, tax with holdings, and direct deposits.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports; resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Collaborate with Finance on payroll journal entries, audits, and reporting.
  • Support year-end processes including W-2 issuance and tax reconciliations.
Benefits Support (Secondary Focus)
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks including enrollments, changes, new hire onboarding, and terminations.
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors and ensure accurate payroll/benefit deductions.
  • Help troubleshoot employee benefit questions and elevate when necessary.
  • Support open enrollment and benefits communication efforts.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of payroll experience
    , preferably in a high-volume or multi-state environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage & hour rules, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with UKG/Ulti Pro is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration processes (health, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, 401(k), etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong general systems aptitude.
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service orientation.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
