We seek a seasoned and results‑driven Payroll Specialist to support the creation and execution of Discovery Energy’s world‑class US payroll function. This role will assist the payroll leaders in implementing and running the payroll processes and systems for the US, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, and maintaining a consistent, accurate, and efficient US operation.

• Payroll Processing Support:
  Engage with a payroll outsourcing provider and support payroll processing for employees accurately and on time, including calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. Assist payroll leaders across all areas of US payroll and help oversee our outsourced payroll operations.
• Data Management:
  Maintain employee records, including hours worked, taxes, and benefits deductions. Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Compliance:
  Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with tax laws, wage and hour regulations, FLSA regulations, and reporting.
• Communication:
  Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions. Communicate payroll‑related policies and procedures effectively.
• Reporting:
  Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed. Generate reports for tax filings, audits, and other regulatory requirements.
• Problem Solving:
  Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to address payroll‑related concerns.
• System Maintenance:
  Maintain and update payroll systems.
