IT Support Specialist Milwaukee, WI *
Information Technology Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of continued growth, we are looking for a motivated IT Support Specialist to join our growing team. This role provides day-to-day technical support to office staff and manufacturing teams, resolves escalated issues, and ensures reliable operation of user endpoints and critical equipment.
Level1 Responsibilities
- Respond to help desk tickets, calls, and walk-up requests
- Perform basic troubleshooting for: printers/scanners, software issues, VPN/MFA assistance, network drive mapping, Email/Outlook issues
- Handle password resets, account unlocks, and basic user assistance
- Unbox, tag, and prepare hardware for deployment
- Assist with onboarding tasks and workstation setups
- Troubleshoot advanced issues involving:
Windows 10/11, Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, One Drive, SharePoint access), Desktop hardware - Install/Configure/Update Software
- Image/Deploy/Rebuild laptops and desktops
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, switch ports, Wi‑Fi issues)
- Support manufacturing floor devices (label printers, handhelds, production terminals)
- Manage Active Directory tasks (group access, workstation joins, user changes)
- Document resolutions, processes, and common fixes
- 1-4+ years of IT Support, Helpdesk, or Desktop Support experience
- Strong understanding of:
Windows desktop OS, Office 365 applications, basic Active Directory tasks, PC hardware troubleshooting - Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and follow through to resolution
- Strong communication and customer support skills
- Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune, PDQ, SCCM, etc.)
- Basic Power Shell knowledge
- Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant Microsoft certifications
