This full-time, on-site role is based at the company’s corporate headquarters near Milwaukee (Pleasant Prairie, WI).

However, applicants who already hold U.S. work authorization or are eligible for alternative pathways (such as H-1B transfers or cap-exempt options) are encouraged to apply.

About Role

As Software Architect Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performing team of software architects responsible for shaping enterprise-wide application architecture. You’ll work closely with delivery teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions across both custom-built systems and packaged software platforms.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining people management, strategic architecture planning, and close collaboration with engineering stakeholders. You’ll be instrumental in defining architectural standards, guiding modernization initiatives, and ensuring technology decisions align with long‑term business goals. The position is fully on‑site and designed for senior professionals who thrive in structured, high‑impact environments with clear ownership and accountability.

Known for operational excellence and long‑term stability, Uline invests heavily in its people through competitive compensation, world‑class facilities, and continuous professional development. Employees benefit from comprehensive healthcare, generous retirement contributions, tuition assistance, and premium on‑site amenities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software architects delivering enterprise architecture services
  • Define and oversee application architecture standards for both custom development and packaged solutions
  • Partner with application delivery teams to guide design decisions and technical direction
  • Plan and manage architecture service delivery to support high‑quality software releases
  • Drive alignment between business objectives and technology strategy
  • Review and approve architectural designs to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Foster strong cross‑functional relationships with engineering and delivery stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • 10+ years of application development experience, including 5+ years leading software architects
  • Proven expertise in designing architectures for both custom‑built systems and commercial platforms
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
  • Experience guiding enterprise‑scale software initiatives
  • Eligibility to work in the United States (H‑1B lottery sponsorship is not offered)

This Software Architect Manager role offers senior technology leaders the chance to shape large‑scale enterprise systems within a financially stable, growth‑focused organization. With outstanding benefits, long‑term career prospects, and meaningful architectural ownership, Uline provides a compelling platform for experienced professionals ready to lead at scale.

Qualified candidates with existing U.S. work authorization or eligible transfer status are invited to apply and take the next step in their leadership journey.
