Position Overview
As a Firewall, Load Balancing, and Network Engineer, you will engineer (design, implement, and manage) advanced network security and traffic management solutions across a global enterprise environment. Your role ensures Rockwell's network environments are secure, performant, and optimized connectivity for all users and applications. You will collaborate closely with global security, network operations, and architecture teams to enforce security policies, maintain compliance, and support business requirements.
You will report to the Senior Manager of Global Network Engineering.
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet) and centralized management systems such as Panorama.
- Develop, document, and optimize rule bases, objects, NAT policies, segmentation strategies, and security profiles.
- Integrate firewall environments with identity services, directory platforms, SIEM tools, and security analytics systems.
- Conduct regular firewall audits, tuning, rule cleanup, and adherence to global security standards.
- Engineer and manage load balancing platforms (F5, Citrix ADC, AVI, or equivalent) to ensure high availability and efficient delivery of applications.
- Configure LTM/GTM (or equivalents) including health monitors, SSL offload, virtual IP rules, and traffic routing logic.
- Collaborate with application owners to optimize performance, reduce latency, and improve user experience across globally distributed workloads.
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of global routing, switching, segmentation, and automation strategies.
- Produce high-quality network documentation including diagrams, test plans, standards, and configuration baselines.
- Support monitoring, incident response, and problem management in partnership with Network Operations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security policies, IT standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Implement and validate controls related to network boundaries, secure access, and privileged account management.
- Perform vulnerability remediation on network devices in coordination with security and operations teams.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, lifecycle planning, and modernization initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree.

- Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience in network security engineering.
- Palo Alto, F5, Cisco or other industry recognized certifications (PCNSE, CCNA, CCNP, etc).
- Strong proficiency with enterprise firewall platforms and centralized management systems (Panorama or similar).
- Experience with load balancing technologies and application delivery controllers.
- Solid understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, segmentation, and network security concepts.
- Familiarity with automation tools, CI/CD workflows, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional engineering and security teams.
- Strong documentation discipline and adherence to change management standards.
