Role Summary
The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage TFL’s Information Technology Department. The VP-IT is responsible for the day-to-day operations of IT as well as ensuring TFL’s timely and complete responses in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance. Success is determined by the timely accomplishment of Organizational Initiatives, and the furthering of organizational objectives.
The VP-IT is responsible for management and oversight of the IT Operations & Cybersecurity and Application Administration departments, including network and PC support activity, computer operations, systems administration, planning, infrastructure architecture, security, disaster recovery, and auditing. Management duties also include budgeting, expense monitoring, and coordination with the Finance department on IT software/hardware budgeting for other departments.
He/she is responsible for managing the execution of projects, leading and training within the IT Department, and guiding Organizational Initiatives and special projects to fruition. This position requires extensive communications, proficiency with related software, ability to work in a virtual environment, capacity to handle multiple projects and complex tasks, and discretion with confidential matters.
Responsibilities- Oversee all activities relating to IT Operations & Cybersecurity and Application Administration teams, advising on policies, technical issues, priorities, and methods.
- Conduct project meetings, plan, track, and analyze projects.
- Oversight of network and PC support, computer operations, systems administration, planning, infrastructure architecture, and auditing.
- Technology Strategy and Innovation
:
Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with organizational goals, identify emerging technologies, evaluate impact, and drive innovation. - Cybersecurity and Data Privacy
:
Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect data and systems. - Manage CFL data centers and disaster recovery capability and evolution.
- Develop and deliver IT strategy and roadmap.
- Vendor and Partner Management
:
Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and alignment with strategic objectives. - Strategic Planning and Execution
:
Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, collaborate with senior leadership, define priorities, allocate resources, and track progress. - Coordinate with Leaders Forum management team on Enterprise Risk Management, BCP, and other committees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology field or Business Administration.
- MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the insurance industry and IT-focused roles.
