Director, IT Strategy & ERP Programs

Harley-Davidson Motor Company seeks an experienced leader to oversee a multi-year ERP program and IT strategy across commercial, dealer channels, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and corporate finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight to project work streams to develop solutions that enhance productivity, capacity, and quality.
  • Design and develop projects and work streams within the program aligned with strategic plans and objectives.
  • Ensure ERP design and configuration is based on a holistic solution encompassing business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Lead implementation of program deliverables, coordinating external consultants, business leads, project managers, and SMEs from Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commercial, and other units.
  • Manage day‑to‑day ERP program discipline and overall budget, partnering with Finance to align with the broader IT budget and investment plan.
  • Understand business drivers and capabilities, facilitating the design and implementation of appropriate solution architecture.
  • Implement standardized global business processes in close partnership with business leadership.
  • Apply proven approaches to deliver new business capabilities and improve operational performance throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Resolve complex business issues arising from new process implementations, escalating decisions as needed.
  • Translate organizational opportunities into project cost and customer impact insights.
  • Ensure effective change management through stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and adoption.
  • Create and maintain program artifacts, including steering committee meetings, metrics, status reports, and project plans, providing updates to executives and stakeholders.
  • Design and track program-level metrics and KPIs for each workstream and project.
  • Coordinate annual IT strategic planning and operating plans, integrating inputs into a prioritized roadmap.
  • Oversee IT PMO and governance processes, ensuring consistent execution, reporting, and risk management across major IT programs.
  • Support development of the IT financial plan, including budget tracking, investment prioritization, and performance transparency.
  • Act as strategic advisor and operational lead, facilitating executive governance forums and cross‑portfolio alignment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive experience implementing solutions for cross‑functional, global organizations.
  • Five years of leadership responsibility, managing large teams and influencing senior‑level stakeholders.
  • Excellent influencing, communication, and collaborative skills.
  • Preferred: previous management consulting experience delivering complex ERP implementations.
  • Results‑driven, detail‑oriented, and effective at building relationships across teams.
  • Self‑motivated, driving results and setting priorities with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience
  • BA/BS or equivalent in a business‑related discipline, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
  • 10+ years of ERP program implementation, leading delivery organizations, or consulting experience.
  • Strong expertise in major ERP solutions such as SAP or Oracle (SAP preferred).
  • Experience with mid/large enterprises and start‑ups desirable.
  • Good understanding of financial and supply chain processes (order to cash, procure to pay, record to report) preferred.
  • Experience in high‑tech, engineering, or manufacturing a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to executives and stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of change management approaches and their application.
Additional Information
  • Pay Range: $171,800 – $274,700 (national average; actual pay may vary).
  • Travel: 10% – 25%.
