The Director of Salesforce, University Information Services (UIS) - Georgetown University leverages native Salesforce functionality, custom Apex development, and integrations with external systems to deliver results that align with the organization’s mission. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective Salesforce solutions, prioritizing native functionality and strategic customization. This position also supports data‑driven workflows and reporting and participates in code reviews to ensure high‑quality development practices.
Duties- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Office of Advancement, to translate requirements into effective Salesforce solutions.
- Develop, test, document, and deploy custom Salesforce features and integrations.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high‑quality development practices.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues affecting the Salesforce environment.
- Serve as a technical lead for the Salesforce ecosystem and define best practices.
- Maintain ownership of the Salesforce ecosystem, including architecture and data integrations.
This position collaborates with stakeholders, the Associate Vice President – Solutions Engineering and IT Services, Director of Platform Development, and UX professionals to assess and plan for evolving system needs. The role will also work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to manage and support the platform.
Requirements and Qualifications- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Salesforce Developer or related IT experience, including work with enterprise‑level databases.
- Proven expertise in Salesforce platform development (Salesforce Certified Platform DeveloperI and Salesforce Certified Mulesoft Developer required), customization, and integration with tools such as Apex, validation rules, custom objects, and page layouts.
- Experience in Salesforce administration, APIs, data management tools (e.g., data loader), and handling data exchange formats (XML, JSON, CSV).
- Familiarity with Apex/Visualforce, data modeling, and schema design.
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II preferred.
This position has been designated as Hybrid.
