Client is seeking an experienced Workday Project Leader to lead enterprise Workday initiatives supporting Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Talent Management, and related business functions across City departments. The selected consultant will be responsible for leading Workday projects from project initiation through deployment and post-production support. This role requires strong project leadership skills, Workday functional and technical expertise, stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, business users, vendors, and executive leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive Workday implementation and project management experience, strong understanding of Workday architecture, integrations, reporting, security, and enterprise business processes. The consultant will ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, aligned with business objectives, and compliant with established governance standards. The City's Workday ecosystem includes integrations with external platforms including Docu Sign, Equifax, Microsoft Teams, Voya, Ameriflex, Job Aps, and other enterprise applications supporting Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Payroll, and Talent Management functions.
• 7+ years of Project Management, ERP Project Leadership, or Workday Project Leadership experience.
• 5+ years of Workday implementation, upgrade, or enhancement project experience.
• Experience leading enterprise Workday projects from initiation through deployment.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Experience supporting Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, or Financials modules.
• Experience supporting Workday integrations and enterprise application interfaces.
• Experience managing Workday implementation vendors and consulting partners.
• Experience developing project plans, status reports, and executive presentations.
• Experience supporting Workday testing, training, deployment, and change management activities.
• Experience supporting post-production stabilization and operational support initiatives.
• Strong Workday project leadership expertise.
• Strong project management and program management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Strong understanding of Workday architecture and functionality.
• Strong risk management and issue resolution skills.
• Strong budgeting and resource planning abilities.
• Strong requirements gathering and business analysis capabilities.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to bridge technical and functional teams effectively.
• Government or Public Sector experience.
• Workday Project Management experience.
• Workday HCM implementation experience.
• Workday Financials implementation experience.
• Workday Payroll and Benefits experience.
• PMP Certification.
• Agile and Waterfall project management experience.
• Workday Pro Certifications.
• Experience supporting large-scale ERP transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing enterprise cloud application projects.
