Our client, a leading, family-owned company in the manufacturing space, has been in operation for the past 75+ years! They are looking to hire a Cybersecurity & Risk Manager, who will be helping to stand up and own the long term cybersecurity strategy!

This role requires five days onsite in Brookfield, just outside Milwaukee!

Job Summary

The Cybersecurity and Risk Manager oversees and improves security across a large and complex enterprise environment. The role covers cybersecurity operations, risk management, vendor oversight, and disaster recovery readiness, working in close coordination with the internal IT infrastructure and operations teams. The manager also handles third‑party security partners and the systems that support threat monitoring, incident response, and remediation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, roll out, and keep improving cybersecurity strategies, policies, standards, and reporting metrics
  • Run day‑to‑day cybersecurity operations and risk management work
  • Work with IT infrastructure and operations to secure networks, systems, and cloud platforms
  • Oversee monitoring, incident response, and remediation, both in‑house and through outside vendors
  • Manage Microsoft 365 and Azure security controls and policies, including Defender, Entra , Sentinel, and Purview
  • Administer firewall and email security platforms such as Fortinet and Barracuda
  • Oversee identity, access, and privileged access, including PAM, MFA, least privilege, and zero trust
  • Manage MSSPs and other security vendors, and hold them accountable for SLA performance
  • Lead vulnerability management, patching oversight, and risk remediation
  • Support incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
Experience and Qualifications (Required)
  • At least 7 years of increasing responsibility in cybersecurity, infrastructure security, IT risk management, security operations, or related IT areas
  • At least 3 years in a technology leadership, cybersecurity manager, risk manager, security architect, or senior security operations role
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Experience supporting security in a multi‑site enterprise or large corporate environment
  • Solid hands‑on experience across the Microsoft ecosystem, including AD, M365, Entra , and Azure
  • Experience with endpoint detection and response, email security, identity protection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response
  • Hands‑on experience with Defender, Sentinel, firewalls, PAM, DLP, and email security
  • Experience managing firewall rules, network segmentation, VPN security, remote access security, and network security monitoring
  • Familiarity with Fortinet firewall environments and Cisco and HP enterprise networking
  • Experience writing security policies, standards, procedures, incident response plans, and risk documentation
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance, and risk programs
  • Background in disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST and CIS Controls
  • Experience working with MSPs, MDR providers, external SOC providers, or cybersecurity consultants
Experience and Qualifications (Preferred)
  • CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCNA or CCNP, or Microsoft security certifications
  • Knowledge of ISO security frameworks
  • Familiarity with Connect Wise PAM or an equivalent platform
  • Experience with ticketing, ITSM, CMDB, vulnerability management, and documentation platforms
