Work Arrangement:
Mostly Remote
Onsite: 1–2 times per month potentially onsite in the greater Milwaukee area
Duration: 1 year initially, with potential for a multi-year engagement
- Candidates must currently be located within the greater Milwaukee area or within approximately 1 hour of a client’s site, such as Milwaukee, Pewaukee, etc.

An Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing complex technology or physical systems projects. They oversee the implementation of enterprise-level hardware, software, data centers, and networks to ensure alignment with business goals, budgets, and timelines.
Job SummaryThe Infrastructure Project Manager leads cross-functional technical teams and third-party vendors while managing end-to-end delivery of critical infrastructure initiatives, ranging from cloud migrations and server upgrades to hardware deployments and physical networking setups.
The ideal candidate balances strong organizational leadership with enough technical literacy to translate complex technical constraints into clear business requirements.
Key Responsibilities Project Lifecycle Management- Lead infrastructure projects from initial discovery and planning through final deployment, commissioning, and handover.
- Create detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Track project milestones.
- Manage timelines using MS Project.
- Direct technical resources across multiple work streams.
- Oversee third-party contractors.
- Ensure delivery standards are met.
- Manage financial tracking.
- Perform project forecasting.
- Manage procurement of necessary hardware, software, or construction materials.
- Identify project dependencies.
- Manage risk logs.
- Develop robust mitigation plans.
- Ensure strict compliance with security or regulatory standards.
- Serve as the primary contact point.
- Translate technical updates into high-level reports for executive leadership and steering committees.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of traditional Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with hybrid project delivery structures.
- Familiarity with:
- Data center builds
- Server virtualization, including VMware
- Cloud environments
- Storage solutions, including SAN/NAS
- Structural network routing
- Microsoft Project
- Azure Dev Ops
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Strong conflict resolution capabilities.
- Concise and professional communication skills.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of dedicated experience managing enterprise-level infrastructure technology projects.
- Experience managing IT projects and programs for the Enterprise Infrastructure portfolio.
- PMP credentials highly preferred.
This includes aligning with teams outside of the Enterprise Infrastructure team to plan and execute changes that involve cross-team impact.
