To provide litigation support for units within the criminal division of the District Attorney's Office, principally relating to the management and processing of digital criminal discovery in criminal cases. The management and processing of criminal discovery is a statutory requirement in the code of criminal procedure.
Responsibilities- Review digital discovery (e.g., reports, recordings, video) for completeness.
- Order reports and/or files missing from discovery materials and confirm receipt of missing reports or files once requested.
- Update PROTECT case management system to document discovery process.
- Review requests for specific discovery issues in criminal cases in anticipation of trial.
- Respond to requests by identifying and requesting materials from law enforcement agencies, and, once received, distribute digital material.
