Purchase Specialist

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support daily purchasing activities, supplier management, and inventory requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials, services, and maintenance supplies are available to support production while maintaining quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

• Create and process purchase orders within an ERP system
• Maintain purchasing records and supplier information
• Train employees on purchasing procedures and PO entry
• Evaluate supplier pricing and perform cost comparisons
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, and on-time delivery
• Develop and maintain supplier scorecards
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements
• Manage maintenance and spare parts inventory records
• Create new part numbers and maintain ERP data accuracy
• Analyze historical purchasing data and support budgeting efforts
• Develop and improve purchasing policies and procedures
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Finance, and Operations teams

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience
• Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, fabrication, machining, or production experience
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, Infor, or similar)
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience with purchase orders, contracts, and inventory management

• MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) purchasing experience
• Supplier performance management and scorecard development
