The Janitor position at Milwaukee PDC is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our commercial building. This role involves performing a variety of janitorial duties to ensure all areas are hygienic and orderly, contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the facility. The janitor will also be responsible for handling landscaping and lawn care tasks to preserve the exterior appearance of the property.

Additionally, the role requires adherence to safety procedures to protect both the janitor and building occupants. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the facility's daily functions by managing cleaning, maintenance, and minor logistical tasks such as operating a box truck when necessary.

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work within a commercial building setting.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying heavy weights safely.
• Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals, equipment, and general workplace safety.
• Basic computer literacy to complete work orders and communicate effectively.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a box truck.

• Experience with landscaping and lawn care maintenance.
• Knowledge of stainless steel care and maintenance techniques.
• Previous experience working in a large distribution or processing center environment.
• Certification in workplace safety or hazardous materials handling.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues independently.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.
• Maintain stainless steel surfaces and other specialized materials to ensure they remain in excellent condition.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment to care for lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces surrounding the facility.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials using a box truck as required.
• Utilize basic computer skills to log maintenance activities, report issues, and communicate with facility management.
• Lift and carry heavy objects safely as part of daily cleaning and maintenance duties.

Apply the required skills daily to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and visually appealing. Janitorial duties such as cleaning and sanitizing are performed with attention to detail, while knowledge of stainless steel care ensures specialized surfaces are properly maintained. Operating a box truck and lifting heavy items require physical strength and adherence to safety protocols to prevent injury. Landscaping and lawn care skills are used to maintain the outdoor environment, contributing to the overall facility appearance.

Basic computer skills support efficient communication and documentation, enabling the janitor to report maintenance needs and coordinate with management effectively.

Monday through Friday 9 am–5:30 pm, occasional overtime on weekends.
