Job Overview

A Building Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that physical facilities, whether commercial, residential, or institutional, are kept in optimal condition. The professional oversees the day‑to‑day operations of maintenance services, plans and executes preventative maintenance strategies, addresses urgent repair needs, and champions standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The Building Maintenance Manager combines technical know‑how with leadership abilities, effectively bridging hands‑on work and administrative oversight.

Their effectiveness directly impacts the longevity of building assets, the satisfaction of occupants, and the overall operational costs of a property.

Essential Functions

Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the building and grounds staff/vendors to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of the clinic’s buildings and grounds. Receive, prioritize, schedule, and provide the timely and satisfactory completion of work requests for the clinic’s buildings and grounds.

Maintenance Oversight:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, janitorial staff, security and other specialists. Ensure all building systems—mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and safety—are functioning properly and maintained according to industry standards and local regulations.

Preventative Maintenance Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all building systems and equipment. Schedule regular inspections, servicing, and necessary replacements to reduce downtime, prevent major repairs, and extend asset lifespans.
