Under the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework, the Assistant Director, Vieth Institute for Real Estate Leadership serves as an integrator of operations, people and strategy and the visionary, translating ideas into action, building traction, and driving consistent execution. This role is responsible for harmoniously uniting the major functions of the institute, ensuring that day‑to‑day operations align with strategic priorities, and that the team executes the vision of the executive director and institute faculty and staff with clarity, consistency, and accountability.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Execution & Project Management:
    Manage the institute’s strategic goals, supervising actionable project plans with milestones and accountability among institute staff and affiliated faculty. Track team and initiative progress, follow up on deliverables, and own the institute’s execution rhythm. Supervise timelines and execute on all institute goals and initiatives, including resourcing, and organizational bandwidth across the major Vieth Institute disciplines (business, engineering, law, and others as necessary).

    Manage and execute on their leader’s incoming ideas and requests to keep the team focused on highest priorities.

  • Strategic Support for the Leader:
    Manage the day‑to‑day supervision and delegation of major institute goals on behalf of the executive director. Supervise all day‑to‑day operations of the institute, allowing their leader to remain focused on big relationships, storytelling, innovation, and growth. Manage budget, including revenue and expenses, annual reporting, and donor relations and fund management. Review and synthesize documents, prep strategy memos, and coordinate follow‑ups from meetings.

    Serve as a strategic sounding board, offering perspective, challenging ideas and planning discipline. Protect "deep work" blocks in their leader’s calendar; support time audits and productivity sprints.

  • Team Alignment & Operational Rhythm:
    Lead and facilitate Vieth Institute team meetings, ensuring clear action steps, accountability follow‑up. Prepare agendas, track progress on quarterly goals, KPIs, and recurring reviews of scorecards and people issues. Manage cross‑functional communications to keep the team aligned and informed.
