Job SummaryAs Assurance Director you will oversee assurance engagements, provide leadership, and perform critical technical functions as an Engagement Director or Concurring Reviewer when assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Apply business acumen to advise clients on organization‑wide services and solutions.
- Analyze core business operations, industry economics, and performance measures.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- When acting as Engagement Director, sign audit, review, and compilation reports and maintain engagement letters.
- Obtain written pre‑approval from the Client Service Assurance Partner and the Practice Region RTD for specific assignments.
- Demonstrate requisite industry experience for each engagement.
- When serving as Concurring Reviewer on sensitive but non‑public engagements, obtain written pre‑approval and maintain engagement independence.
- Review work prepared by associates, senior associates, and managers; provide review comments.
- Act as a career advisor and conduct performance reviews.
- Advanced proficiency in GAAP and GAAS principles; apply to client transactions.
- Comprehensive understanding of the control environment and internal controls.
- Ability to identify critical control points and suggest improvements.
- Knowledge of SEC reporting rules when applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Master’s degree in Accountancy preferred.
- Eight or more years of audit or public accounting experience.
- Prior significant supervisory experience.
- Active U.S. CPA license or equivalent required.
- Industry expertise in one or more assurance specialties preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and assurance applications.
- Supervise staff, managers, and senior associates.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Demonstrate executive presence and client leadership.
- Engage in professional development and opportunities for advancement.
