We perform over five million tests annually and specialize in delivering comprehensive, clinical laboratory services to clients ranging from large tertiary care centers to small community practices.

SummaryResponsible for the management and operations of onsite and mobile phlebotomy, long term care client services, and relationships with and management of the outsourced courier vendor.
Responsibilities- Effectively and efficiently maintain the daily work schedule for Support Services operations including phlebotomy, order entry staff, and courier services, assuring appropriate levels of staffing are achieved and vendors are aligned to meet daily workloads and workflow.
- Provide thoughtful leadership to continually improve processes and workflows and serve as the change management champion of the department.
- Demonstrate ability to develop leaders and delegate responsibilities, ensuring leaders manage scheduling, problem‑solve, and think critically.
- Manage vendor relationships with outsourced couriers, monitor performance to keep routes efficient and client expectations met, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Act as backup for supervisors on payroll, performance evaluations, scheduling, fleet management, and policy development when necessary.
- Conduct rounding on supervisors and ensure 30/90‑day check‑ins are completed by supervisors and staff.
- Provide timely problem resolution to internal and external customers, seek alternative solutions, and follow up to ensure issues do not recur.
- Set standards for productivity and monitor that all staff meet or exceed minimum expectations.
- Interview, select, train, motivate, coach, and mentor potential employees for succession planning; provide training as needed.
- Conduct and coordinate departmental new‑employee orientation and schedule ongoing training for current employees, assessing progress and adjusting schedules.
- Ensure employees are familiar with and regularly follow policies and procedures; coordinate required periodic staff reviews and sign‑offs on policies, regulatory items, minutes, safety updates, etc.
- Promote continuous quality improvement initiatives through education, projects, and creative critical thinking, engaging staff in their work and the mission.
- Communicate regularly with employees about job satisfaction, performance, and career development; coach and counsel as necessary and prepare performance improvement plans or progressive discipline.
- Conduct meaningful staff meetings at least monthly, share company information, invite input, and prepare comprehensive minutes.
- Prepare and conduct annual employee performance evaluations within the required month.
- Develop, monitor, and report QA standards and objectives, using outcome data to enhance quality of services; resolve situations promptly, maintain performance indicators, ensure compliance, prepare for inspections, and investigate risks.
- Meet departmental operations budget within acceptable variances, seeking innovative approaches to expense reduction and cost‑effective enhancements, preparing reports on FTEs and overtime, and planning staffing.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of five years directly related experience required.
- Minimum of three years management experience, preferably in a clinical laboratory.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, be articulate, concise, and persuasive in writing and orally.
- Demonstrated project and time management, and critical thinking skills.
- Flexibility to meet customer needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of principles of organizational development and organizational effectiveness preferred.
