Executive Director, Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW)
The Medical College of Wisconsin invites applications for a strategic, visionary, and highly influential leader to serve as the next Executive Director for the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW). The role also carries the title of Associate Provost, reflecting AHW’s integral impact across MCW’s academic, research, clinical, and community engagement missions.
About the RoleThe Executive Director will provide overarching leadership for AHW’s strategy, partnerships, programming, grants, and philanthropy. This includes stewardship of funds, grant oversight, and working closely with MCW leadership to advance Wisconsin’s health priorities. The Director will also serve as the primary steward of the Endowment’s long‑term vitality, ensuring accountability, transparency, compliance, and strong governance relationships.
Responsibilities- Lead strategy, partnerships, and programming for AHW’s high‑impact investments.
- Direct grantmaking, pilot initiatives, and strategic convenings to address statewide health challenges.
- Generate forward‑thinking solutions and foster statewide innovation across health systems, payors, government, philanthropy, and community organizations.
- Ensure the Endowment’s long‑term vitality through accountability, transparency, compliance, and strong governance relationships.
- Engage diverse stakeholders, oversee complex philanthropic, research, educational, and public health portfolios, and navigate institutional, political, and regulatory environments.
- MD, PhD, DO, or equivalent terminal degree and eligibility for MCW faculty appointment.
- Experienced and visible leader in academic medicine, health philanthropy, implementation science, research, public health, or related fields.
- Track record of strategic execution across health professions education, clinical practice, research, and community health.
- Commitment to systems‑level improvement and community partnerships.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ethical leadership, consensus‑building, impact‑oriented communication, and relational expertise to advance organizational priorities and statewide health goals.
