Summary
Connect Search is hiring a Controller for a nonprofit organization in Milwaukee.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations.
- Supervise the accounting staff.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses for leadership.
- Coordinate the annual audit and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and grant requirements.
- Oversee cash management activities, banking relationships, and cash flow monitoring.
- Complete grant billings and expenditure reports to ensure reimbursement from funding agencies.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
- Develop grant budgets, monitor financial performance, and support funding sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Nonprofit industry and grant compliance experience is required.
