Approximately 10-15 hours per week during the academic year.
The Studio Arts and Craft Centre consists of 5 main areas – photography, jewelry and metals, printmaking, ceramics, and fibers. Each area has a Lead that is responsible for the general maintenance and overall management of their respective area. Each Studio Lead works Studio Assistant shifts. Studio Assistants work at the front desk and assist studio members.
Qualifications- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of photography, ceramics, printmaking, metal smithing and jewelry, and fibers
- Must be willing to learn and adhere to the basic tenets of the University of Wisconsin system policies and procedures regarding employment
- Works with the Program Manager and communicates regularly with Area Leads, Studio Assistants, and Supervisor.
- Involved in planning and running promotional events and collaborations such as Earth Week, Union Concourse events, and other programming activities
- Implements studio procedures (including equipment, shift, safety, and emergencies)
- Coordinates staff training, staff meetings, and weekly staff schedules each semester
- Supervises staff and members in the studio in adherence to UWM Union Conduct Policies
- Maintains studio inventory, purchases, supplies stock, tools, and equipment while keeping track of invoices to report accordingly
- Regulates sale item prices and updates the register
- Manages memberships, class registration, refunds, locker rentals, and billing
- Delegates general Studio Assistant duties as needed

All staff must attend regular SACC staff meetings (staff meetings are set at the beginning of each semester to accommodate student’s class schedules).
This position is open to UW-Milwaukee students with a minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA.
