We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a skilled team within a fast-paced repair facility. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining high quality standards, fostering employee development, and ensuring exceptional customer service while supporting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the electric motor repair department, ensuring projects move efficiently from intake through completion.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor repair jobs while managing schedules, workflow, and production deadlines.
  • Coordinate with technicians, machine shop personnel, accounting, customer service, and other internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review repair quotes, establish accurate pricing, and oversee timely billing for completed work.
  • Provide technical guidance on troubleshooting, repair methods, testing procedures, and failure analysis for motors, generators, pumps, and related rotating equipment.
  • Lead daily production meetings, remove workflow obstacles, and maintain productivity across the department.
  • Communicate repair recommendations, project updates, and technical information with customers and vendors.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electric motor repair, rotating equipment maintenance, or industrial electrical/mechanical service.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technicians or shop personnel within an industrial or repair environment.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC motor construction, testing, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and repair processes.
  • Experience overseeing quoting, pricing, scheduling, workflow coordination, and job costing.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience mentoring, developing, and cross-training technical teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
