The Director of Faculty Practice Operations, Dental position sits at the intersection of clinical care, education, and business operations. The Director will have the opportunity to shape a key part of the School of Dentistry's external reputation and internal performance, with meaningful visibility and impact.
This is not a maintenance role. The Director will be responsible for improving clinic productivity, strengthening the patient experience, optimizing provider performance, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the practice.
The Director will operate with broad authority across operations, staffing, budgeting, and workflow design, and serve as the primary operational partner to clinical leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities- Clinic Operations & Performance Lead all day-to-day and long-term operations of the Faculty Practice Clinic Identify and remove bottlenecks in scheduling, patient flow, and provider utilization Drive measurable improvements in clinic productivity, access, and patient satisfaction
- Financial Management Own the clinic’s operating budget, revenue cycle performance, and financial outcomes Oversee billing, collections, and payer mix optimization Identify and implement strategies to improve revenue and cost efficiency
- Provider & Staff Leadership Supervise administrative and clinical support staff, including hiring, performance management, and development Partner with faculty providers to optimize schedules, productivity, and patient access Address underperformance directly and constructively
- Growth & Market Positioning Develop and execute strategies to grow the patient base and expand services Partner with school leadership on branding, outreach, and referral development Position the Faculty Practice as a high-quality, patient-centered clinical destination
- Patient Experience & Quality Oversee all patient-facing operations, including financial consultations and service recovery Ensure consistent, high-quality patient experience aligned with institutional standards Maintain accountability for operational aspects of care quality and service delivery
Skills and Abilities
