Job Duties:

Manages interconnected administrative and operational programs within University Housing, including executive operations, departmental systems, and student employment administration. This position leads continuous improvement of operational services supporting departmental effectiveness, cross-unit coordination, and policy compliance, while providing decision support to the Director and Housing Leadership Team and exercising independent judgment over priorities, systems, and workflows.

Job Responsibilities:

May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expenditures

Plans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancement

Leads the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agencies

Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications

May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees

Contributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors

Identifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures

University Housing Compensation:$ 6 5K - $ 72 K (Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.

Three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative operations, program management, or a related area in a higher education setting.

Experience coordinating complex programs, projects, or operational processes across multiple stakeholders or work units.

Experience developing and improving administrative processes, systems, and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply policies and requirements.

Demonstrated ability to analyze information, exercise independent judgment, manage competing priorities, and provide recommendations to leadership.

Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting executive or senior leadership and coordinating cross-functional departmental initiatives.

Experience managing student employment, recruitment, onboarding, or workforce administration programs.

Experience with enterprise administrative systems, including SharePoint, Handshake, Star Rez , Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.

Experience using operational or workforce data to develop reports, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.

Knowledge of higher education policies and regulations, including FERPA, employment practices, and Wisconsin Open Meetings Law.
