Project Director – Milwaukee, WI | Energy Storage
We are partnering with a global energy storage organization on a major utility-scale energy storage project and are looking to identify an experienced Project Director to lead the project through its next phase.
This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for the commercial, operational, financial, and project delivery performance of a major Energy Storage System (ESS) project.
Key Responsibilities- Lead overall project execution, strategy, and operational performance
- Develop and manage project plans covering resources, quality, communications, risk, and commercial strategy
- Oversee project budget, forecasting, financial performance, and cash flow
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary project team
- Manage relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Finance, Contract Management, Sourcing, Quality, and Operations teams
- Establish project priorities and drive performance against key KPIs
- Lead monthly project reviews and provide accurate financial and operational reporting
- Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and project best practices
- Support customer relationships and commercial/claims strategy
- Ensure strong compliance, quality, and EHS performance across the project
- 15+ years of experience in project, program, business, or financial management
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with EPC contracts and renewable energy projects
Background in utility-scale BESS / energy storage projects highly desirable - MBA or additional commercial/business qualifications would be advantageous
